Kim: Day 8

SA2SOS Jul 28, 2015

On the Road again... :-) Yesterday we woke up in Colorado to some stunning views of the mountains from our hotel room, traveled through all 4 states in the Four Corners area and landed for the night in central New Mexico, where we will call home for the next few nights.

A short but fun diversion through a portion of Eastern Utah brought us to Hovenweep National Monument and of course a geocache in Utah too. Driving through each state in this area is so different even though they are so close.

Four Corners area was fun - we didn't know what state we were in as we drove. The actual monument was hot and the lines long, but we got our pictures and can say we were there!

Then we started our drive across New Mexico, with a short but interesting stop at Aztec Ruins National Monument - we were able to get up close and person, actually walking through the ruin rooms and kiva. There was also a beautiful river through the area.

As we left dinner, we began searching for our sunset for the day and saw the beginnings of one in the reflection of the diner. We were then treated to some beautiful colors as we drove down US 550 towards Bernalillo.
