Kim - Here we go! Sept 23 & 24

It's time to start the next adventure - next stop Newark airport where I meet up with the other 3/4 of our party.

It's that time of the year again - time to count down 100 happy days!

I am so blessed to be traveling with my parents and sister. See you on the other side of the pond - next stop Porto, Portugal...

Wellllllll...

Our last 24 hours have been quite the whirlwind - what was supposed to be a nice short, uneventful 6 hour flight to Porto turned into a very long night. I arrived in Newark on the Amtrak train and enjoyed some Notre Dame football and great pizza while waiting for my 3 sidekicks to arrive from San Antonio. We boarded our plane on time, ready to hop the pond and get a somewhat good night's sleep. Well in reality, we sat on the tarmac for 3 hours while they tried to fix some computer glitch, then at 1230am we taxied back to the gate and deplaned while they continued to reboot the plane, hoping the computers started playing nice. Finally, at 130, we reboarded after walking around an empty airport for an hour and finally took off for Porto at 2am, 4 hours late. As they say, better late than never! We were served dinner at 330am, got a few hours sleep and arrived Sunday afternoon at our destination - tired, excited and happily, with all our luggage. In the big picture, it was a successful day/night and we are together and ready for our adventure
